Operations Specialist

Olivia Grotenhuis is Project Coordinator at xNI, where she actively tracks and supports xNI's conflict portfolios - with an emphasis on North Korea, Afghanistan, Venezuela and climate change - as well as provides logistical and administrative support on day to day operations. Prior to joining xNI, Olivia worked as a part time research assistant on the BBC podcast, "The Lazarus Heist," which tells the story of North Korea's daring “billion-dollar” hack of the Bangladesh Central Bank. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Virginia in 2020 with her B.A. in Foreign Affairs and East Asian Studies (concentration in Korean language) and was a 2018 alumna of the Department of State's Critical Language Scholarship for Korean. In her spare time, she works as a freelance research assistant for Evan Osnos at The New Yorker Magazine.
